Competitions: Liberec Slope 2003

    It is not very common in Liberec that there would be fresh winds and beautiful weather from early morning. But what is common for this situation and especially if the winds are for Zaskali is that the wind is blowing exactly between the two meadows.

    The competition took place on the larger (eastern slope) meadow where we had cross winds. The smaller meadow (southern slope) would be better for the competition but it is not very popular between the competitors for its size.

    Everything went rather well, the weather was helping the pilots, more or less, with thermals or on the other hand by turning the winds more to the side.

    Interesting situations happened during the morning training and between each round. From midair collision of two machines to Ocelots stuck in the ground after flying over unfriendly transmitters.

    The competition was coming to its end so the starving ones grabbed their sausages and whatever meat they could find and moved over to the fireplace. All was over after the fourth round and the results could be announced (first ten places at least).

    After that the sky was free to everyone.
