Gliding in Liberec: New year's flying 2002

We had planned and organized this years New Years flying very well, however, we did not expect this much snow in this time of the year. But anyway, six of us got together.
We were lucky to get to Javornik taking into consideration the quality of the road which was covered with snow. The rendez-vous was at the crossroad. After all of got together we headed for the slope where the direction of the wind was acceptable and where the access was atleast a little bit possible. The idea of launching right from the road wasn't very popular, so we had no choice, but to climb up the slope in snow 80cm deep.
The direction of the wind wasn't ideal but it was better than nothing. Most of our landings meant that you had to take a trip on the snowy meadow to go and find your model. Some landings were close to the pit but it was Jirka Jonas that got hit most of the time no matter where he was standing :)
Unfortunately.....but no wonder....there are no pictures, as usual. The brand new Christmas present digital camera was, I guess, colder that it prefers to be (especially the batteries) and just wasn't taking pictures. The pictures you see here are taken from a video camera which had a 90min batteries capacity but after 10min stopped working because of dead batteries.
