Gliding in Liberec: New year's flying 2003

We left our warm and cosy home with a sombre look on our faces and headed for Javornik hill to fill our yearly tradition. Home temperature was approx. 23°C, outside temperature approx. -5°C, cloudy.
We got out of our warmed up cars with a proud smile on our face a started to count each other. There were SEVEN of us! We climbed up to about three quarters of the slope accompanied by the wheezing wind. Here we dropped our anchors and started flying..
Fact is that the wind was max. up to 2 m/s, therefore, the flights were short which was actually good as the constant launching a fetching our models kept us warm. We also remembered (with a bit of irony) others that for, what we understand, obviously serious reasons could not attend (if they can't drink they should have a coke or lemonade; and to have an outside barbecue in temperatures around -15°C and afterwards catch a cold.....) and were coming up with various names for them which we forgot by now.
What else to add? We spent some time on fresh air and with a good feeling went back home. So see you next year on New Year's Day on the slope.
