Gliding in Liberec: Rana rally 2000

[TODAY; COMBAT!!!! In the saddle at 14:00 hours. Signed: RED DEATH]

...Rana sweet Rana...

This year's weather wasn't ideal, however, for those that came to Rana for flying and having fun, can't complain....unlike those that came here for sunbathing.

Thanks to fair winds during the first week it was possible to go flying on the boundary right over the camp (ideal for the lazy ones). Light models were searching for thermal lifts and the heavier machines jumped over the woods immediately after reaching reasonable altitude.
However we spent most of our time in the saddle on the western side. Few times the southern side was working and once we were flying on the east.

Combat took place every day. The Tornados had clear advantage over other combat machines (such as The Stinger) especially thanks to their better flight characteristics and better maneuverability. But when the Stinger hits hard the enemy opponent does not have a chance. Well, my Stinger served as a sitting (or moving?) duck as commented by Libor Malak. For this insult I sent him to the ground a few times.

A football tournament also took place when Prague put together a team against the rest of the world. We could only get four players from the rest of the world so Prague had to come to the rescue. The game was a question of life and death and even after the female players joined in it didn't get any softer.. The screaming of Jirka Kouhout: "If you kill my daughter, I'll kill your father!" only proves the fact that is was a tough game. If you're interested in the score only, then Prague won after a pitiful beginning. When the rest of the world (90% from Liberec) got back in the game and was catching up on them, suddenly the Prague team started to retreat from the game ...."It's getting too dark...I can't see the ball....I'm going to the pub.....I'm not crazy.... Tomorrow's also a day...Game over!!!!!!!....".

If you ever loose something on Rana, drop everything and ask for me. This year a managed to find a tiny receiver SMD component a day after I lost it - after 5 minutes of searching for it.
